The number of youth (aged 14-25) in the world has reached 1.2 billion. Never before has the generation of youth been so big. 90 per cent of the world's youth live in the developing countries.
In the coming years the relative number of young people in the world population will continue to grow. Therefore, the role of youth will have a growing significance in the development of these countries and their communities.
That is why we have to secure their right to education, work and equal participation in the society.Particularly young people in post-conflict, fragile situations need more attention.
